James FitzGerald has had a diverse career, including a number of year as a professional cricketer, which he combined with teaching biology, cricket and rugby at Eton College.
After 20 years at Eton he felt a calling to enter the legal profession. His first role was with the City practice Simmons & Simmons. He qualified into their highly prestigious environmental law department, where he spent seven years before moving into the corporate/commercial department.
Significant clients included Railtrack, the London Underground/TubeLines, the Ministry of Defence, the International Cricket Council and the MCC.
After leaving the City, James worked as Senior In-house Legal Counsel at Airwave O2 before returning to private practice as a partner with an international law firm, splitting his time between the UK and Spain.
James is chairman of the Windsor Referral Network, an influential business networking group. He is also a school governor, a member of Windsor Arts Centre’s management committee and a vice-president of Windsor Rugby Club. He’s an ardent supporter of London Irish Rugby Club and a member of the MCC and the Free Foresters and Cryptics cricket clubs.
In his spare time he enjoys writing and is the author of a number of legal and biological textbooks.
James is married with two daughters. |
